A single production platform for eControl

A unified production platform connecting order to installation — giving the whole team real-time visibility and saving 15+ hours a week.

Built to scale

eControl came to us mid-growth — breaking out of B2B into B2C, with off-the-shelf ERPs that couldn't bend to their build-to-order model. Rather than force their process into someone else's software, we built the platform around how they actually work. It has grown with them ever since.

About

eControl manufactures and sells home oven cookers and electric conversion kits for oil cookers, serving the B2B market as the hospitality sector shifts toward electric. They run on a build-to-order model, and as the business scaled, status was living in people's heads, spreadsheets and email chains — with nothing talking to anything else.

We built a web-based production and engineer management platform that consolidates the whole journey, from initial website enquiry through to installation and beyond. Integrated with WordPress, Xero and WooCommerce and paired with a dedicated engineer app, it gives management, the production team and field installers one real-time picture — and removes the manual transfer of data as an order moves down the pipeline.

The platform gives us one view of the whole operation — from a website enquiry right through to the engineer on site. We've stopped re-keying data between systems and we're saving hours every single week.

How we built it

A multi-stage approach.

01

Discovery & integration mapping

We mapped eControl's build-to-order journey end to end and audited their existing tools. WordPress was already capturing sales leads and warranty claims, Xero handled quotes and invoicing, and WooCommerce took orders — but nothing was joined up. We designed a platform to sit at the centre rather than replace what worked.

02

Production platform

We built a web-based portal that centralises the entire production process — sales enquiries, orders, build queue, installation and warranties — with a colour-coded dashboard (red for urgent, orange for in-progress, green for complete) so every team sees status at a glance. WooCommerce orders schedule automatically into the build queue.

03

Engineer app & API

We developed a custom API connecting the portal to a dedicated engineer mobile app. Engineers are notified the moment a job is assigned, and capture install notes and repair images straight onto the client record — no manual data transfer.

04

Scaling into B2C

With B2B operations consolidated, we extended the platform to support eControl's move into B2C, including a create-job flow for direct customer orders, and we remain on hand for ongoing development as the business grows.

Solution showcase

From order to installation, in one place.

The platform unifies WooCommerce, Xero and WordPress into one production dashboard — tracking every job from sales enquiry through build, despatch and field installation.

The impact

What changed.

One source of truth

Sales enquiries, orders, build progress, installation and warranties now live in one place. Management, production and field installers all work from the same real-time picture instead of chasing spreadsheets and email chains.

Status at a glance

A colour-coded production dashboard shows urgent, in-progress and completed jobs instantly, with a shipping view ordered by despatch date — so nothing slips and the team always knows what needs attention.

No more manual transfer

WooCommerce orders schedule into the build queue automatically and data flows between systems without re-keying, cutting 15+ hours of admin every week.

The field, connected

Engineers are notified of jobs on their phones and add install notes and photos straight to the client record — closing the loop from website enquiry through to installation and beyond.
