When a plugin isn't enough: a custom fixtures table

Off-the-shelf plugins get you a long way, until they don't. This football TV-listings site needed to show exactly which match is on which channel and when — detail its stock football plugin couldn't model — so we built a bespoke fixtures-and-broadcaster dataset behind the scenes.

The listings page queries that custom table directly, grouping matches under date headers with kick-off times and channels, competition by competition. The front end stays polished and familiar; the bit that matters most is bespoke and exactly right.
