A database-free blog in flat Markdown files

Improvement Self-storage

A marketing blog doesn't need a database behind it. We replaced one with a flat-file engine: each post is a simple Markdown file with a little front matter, parsed and rendered on the fly, published by nothing more than uploading it to the server.

There's no database to back up, no CMS to keep patched, and no admin login to secure — just files. For a small, content-led site it's faster, cheaper and more portable, and it moves with the site anywhere it's hosted.
