Spreadsheet replacement software

The spreadsheets your business runs on, rebuilt as a proper system with access control, an audit trail and search.

Spreadsheets Web apps Migration
In short

63Digital replaces the spreadsheets a business has come to depend on with web applications built around the same data. We review how the sheets are really used first, then design around that. On one IT support portal, per-client spreadsheets became a system with per-engineer access, two-factor authentication, a full audit trail and search over 90% faster.

How we help

What we do

01

Review first

Every file, tab and column looked at, with who edits what and what the business uses it for, so the approach fits what we find.

02

A proper database

Tabs become tables with real types and validation, or flexible fields where the data keeps changing.

03

Access & audit

Per-person access, two-factor authentication and a record of every change, from the first day.

04

Careful migration

Data moved across and cleaned up as it goes, with the people who use it checking along the way.

05

Customer access

Read-only views for the customers who need them, once the system has bedded in.

Is it a fit?

Is it time to replace the spreadsheet?

A good fit when

  • ✓Several people edit the same files
  • ✓The sheets hold sensitive data that not everyone should see
  • ✓You need to know who changed what, and when
  • ✓Customers need to see their own part of it

Probably not when

  • –One or two people use it and it does its job (keep it)

FAQ

Common questions

Can you turn our spreadsheets into a web app?

Yes. We review how they're used first, then design a system around the same data, with logins, access control and search on top.

Will we lose the spreadsheet format we're used to?

Not if you don't want to. On one project, the portal exports each client back into the original workbook layout, one worksheet per tab.

How long does it take?

It depends on how much data there is, how clean it is and who needs access. We review the spreadsheets first, then give you a plan and an estimate.

Can our customers see their own data?

Yes, when you're ready. On one project, read-only access behind two-factor authentication went to the clients who wanted it, once the internal version had bedded in.

Tell us what's in them and who edits them. We'll show you what a proper system would look like.
