eControl
63Digital worked with eControl, a manufacturer and seller of home oven cookers and cooker conversion kits, to produce a web-based production and engineer management platform.
eControl produces electric conversions for oil cookers as well as their own products, serving the B2B market at a time when the hospitality sector is shifting toward electric solutions.
Due to the build-to-order nature of their operation, they needed a platform that would centralise order and build queues, customer status and journey, and installation information.
The platform we developed provides them with improved management over the entire operation.
Through a bespoke approach and strategic integrations, our platform provides sector-specific features that have reduced reliance on spreadsheets and email chains.

The challenge: Help our client reduce overhead and time spent on manual transfer of data
Produce a consolidated management platform that:
-
Reduces reliance on manual operations and data input
-
Integrates with existing software (WordPress, WooCommerce, Xero)
-
Provides real-time insight on fulfilment progress
-
Automatically notifies install engineers on upcoming jobs
-
Allows for install notes from engineers to be captured and stored
As well as manufacturing and selling ovens, eControl organises installation and repairs in line with warranty, and needed a platform where all of this could be managed from one place.
A platform that would handle this would also have to effectively integrate their existing stack including a WordPress website, the WooCommerce platform and Xero accounting software.
Existing Xero integrations for WooCommerce were unsatisfactory and off-the-shelf ERP solutions did not meet the requirements of the business, requiring a custom approach.
A second challenge was developing a Single Customer view to ensure a customer’s journey was captured from the point of initial website enquiry through to installation and beyond.
They also needed a strong architecture that would allow for growth in line with the fast-scaling business, which is now breaking into the B2C sector.
The solution: A Production And Engineer Management Platform
We developed a platform that effectively consolidates their entire process, with information available from the point of inquiry to post-sale warranty care.
The Production And Engineer Management Platform allows for real-time insight on sales inquiries, orders, order build progress, installation, and warranties, and no need to manually input or transfer data as an order progresses.
We also collaborated with Elements Design Studio to produce an app that notified engineers and installers of assigned jobs and, and allowed them to log job notes and images.
Through production of an API to connect the portal to the app, this consolidated and allowed for the automation of communication and job allocation.
All relevant parties including management, the production team, and installers have visibility on progress and actions required for fulfilment.
Product Showcase
A clear, east-to-use interface was essential for eControl. Utilising a CSS Framework we ensures that the management platform can be accessed on a wide range of devices.
A web based portal for production management
We built a web-based portal to cover and centralise the entire B2B production management process.
Utilising the strengths of Xero, Wordpress and WooCommerce, our platform leverages multiple integrations for set functions.
Wordpress was used for sales leads and warranty claims, Xero for quotes and invoicing, and WooCommerce for capturing orders and importing them to the build queue allowing for coordination of production management.
It factors in complex product configurations across their range, including add-on components like X-Touch Remote Panels, Inductaheat Hobs, and Fan-Extractor upgrades.
With a centralised reporting dashboard, eControl can see real-time leads, build queues, orders ready for dispatch, shipping progress and fault reports
The colour-coded status system makes it immediately clear which jobs need attention—red for urgent issues, green for completed stages, and orange for jobs in progress.
Engineers App
63Digital developed an API to connect Element Design Studio’s app to our portal.
The app carries out the following functions:
-
Notify engineers when job is assigned
-
Allow job notes and install and repair images to be added to client record
Our architecture ensures the data flows between the two systems, eliminating the need for manual transfer of data.
This has helped all relevant parties including management, the production team, and installers have visibility on progress and actions required for fulfilment.
With all of this information available through the portal, information required for future jobs is easily accessible.
